My name is Melissa Luk. I was born in Richmond, British Columbia. Eight years ago I moved to Toronto to study art at the Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU). When I was 16 I asked my mom if I could go out and paint graffiti. She said 'no'. However, now as an adult I get to do whatever I want. Along the way I've picked up some far-out ideas about the function of art in society and since then the desire to make art on walls has become something slightly more than a rebellious youthful pursuit.

I enjoy modest activities. I like to walk, bike, read and feel the sun shine on my back. I like to think. Most times about art and how to get art into the hands and thoughts of ordinary people. In turn, I attempt to do this by making works that reach as far and freely as possible. I am particularly interested in working with organizations that merit autonomy, balance, cooperation and recycling resources. I am & have always been interested in working for people that I like and believe in.

Besides murals painting I am currently seeking projects relating to public art, civic dissent, plant knowledge, folk craft, do-it-yourself, community organizing, zines & independent publishing, food recovery, creative direction or event co-ordination, along with bookmaking, gardening and illustration.

Do you have a wall for me?
