A B O U T

My name is Melissa Luk. I was born in Richmond, British Columbia. Five years ago I moved to Toronto to study art at the Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCADU). When I was 16 I asked my mom if I could go out and paint graffiti and she said 'no'. However, now as an adult I get to do whatever I want. Along the way I've picked up some far-out ideas about the function of art in society and since then making art on walls has become something slightly more than a rebellious youthful pursuit.

I enjoy modest activities. I like to walk, bike and swim, though I have never considered participating in a triathlon. I like to think. Most times about art, and how to get art into the hands and thoughts of ordinary people. In turn, I attempt to do this by making works that reach as far and freely as possible. I am & have always been interested in working for people that I like and believe in.

I am particularly interested in working on projects relating to murals, public and community art, arts education, contemporary galleries supporting emerging artists, zines, free press, independent publishing, artist-run centers, arts events, creative direction or event co-ordination, along with animation, illustration and printmaking

Do you have a wall for me?
